January 2004 Ben Tootell (AUS)“My area of focus over the last five years has been predominantly in the requirements gathering and design phases for online projects as a Business Analyst and Information Architect. As a Business Analyst I gather, interpret and document the business and end-users’ requirements and as an Information Architect I establish navigational structures, taxonomies and page layouts based on patterns found in data. With my technical, creative and human interaction background, I am able to design solutions which are visually appealing as well as technically feasible and which balance both the users’ and business needs."

That's where he talks about user-centered interface design, and a whole bunch of other things that you'd probably get a kick out of: innovative architecture, well-thought-out product design, whatever remains of "digital culture," and the frantic ravings of dead French intellectuals. Adam has been a rock critic for SPIN Magazine, a San Francisco bike messenger, a PSYOP sergeant in the US Army Special Operations Command, and Director of New Media Development for a now-defunct dotcom. It would be highly unusual for him to wrap a bio without mentioning his love of pad Thai, gin & tonics, the Citroen DS series, and the Velvet Underground." These can manifest in many different ways: information, experiences, products, systems. My interest is in providing solutions that increase the success, condition and opportunity of people.
