dConstruct 2011

Brings together leading thinkers from the fields of interaction design, mobile design and ubiquitous computing to explore how we can bridge the gap between physical and digital product design. (September 2, 2011 ~ Brighton, England)
There's something special about physical products like books and magazines. Maybe it's their weight, maybe it's their tactility or maybe it's a deeper emotional connection. At dConstruct 2011 you'll discover what makes physical products and experiences so special and learn how we can create similar connections in the digital artefacts we create. We will look at the rise of mobile devices and what it means to be a designer in a multi platform world. We will also explore those areas where physical and digital collide; from alternate reality games through to ubiquitous computing and the connected city. In short, this year's dConstruct will look at how designers can bridge the gap between the physical and digital world in order to make better, more human experiences.
